Why do people consider starting to invest early?

Starting to invest early can give investments a longer period in which to potentially grow and allows investors to build an investing habit over time.

The appropriate financial product or course of action depends on the individual and the applicable product terms; Prospera FinTech does not provide personal investment advice.

Why isn't there a single investment plan for everyone?

Different financial products have different objectives, risks, costs, liquidity characteristics and time horizons.

There is therefore no single investment approach that applies universally to all investors. Prospera FinTech provides general information and does not recommend a particular allocation or product.

What factors should I understand before considering an investment?

Before considering an investment, understand its objective, risks, liquidity, costs, taxation, time horizon, regulatory framework and how it fits within your broader financial picture.

Past performance should not be treated as a guarantee of future performance. The applicable product documents and disclosures should be reviewed before proceeding.

What is diversification and why is it important?

Diversification means spreading investments across different asset classes, securities or investment categories rather than concentrating everything in one area.

Diversification can help manage concentration risk because different investments may respond differently to market and economic conditions. It does not eliminate investment risk.

What does investment risk profiling mean?

Risk profiling is the process of understanding an investor’s willingness and ability to take investment risk. It may consider factors such as financial obligations, investment horizon, existing assets, liquidity needs and attitude towards market fluctuations.

Risk profiling is an important concept in understanding investment risk; it does not by itself determine which product or investment a person should choose.

Why are past returns not enough to evaluate an investment?

Past performance can provide useful information, but it should not be treated as a guarantee of future performance or used on its own to assess an investment.

Other factors can include risk, consistency, investment strategy, costs, liquidity, taxation and the applicable product documents and disclosures.

Why might investors review an investment portfolio periodically?

Investors may review a portfolio when their financial circumstances, goals, time horizon or other relevant factors change.

This is a general educational explanation and does not constitute a recommendation by Prospera FinTech to buy, sell or switch any investment.

What are the charges involved in investing?

Charges vary depending on the investment product and service. They may include fund expenses, transaction charges, management fees, distribution-related remuneration, taxes and other applicable provider charges.

The applicable costs should be understood before proceeding. See the Disclosures page for information about Prospera FinTech’s mutual fund distribution and commission disclosures.

What should I understand before proceeding with a financial product?

Before investing, consider the product's objective, risk, expected return, liquidity, investment horizon, costs, taxation, regulatory framework and how it fits into your overall portfolio.

You should also understand the product before investing and avoid making decisions solely based on short-term performance or market trends.

How does Prospera FinTech earn revenue from mutual fund distribution?

For mutual fund schemes distributed through our AMFI-registered entities under the Regular Plan, the applicable Asset Management Company (AMC) pays trail commission to the distributor in accordance with the prevailing commission structure and applicable regulations.

This trail commission is not separately collected from the investor by Prospera FinTech as a distribution charge. The applicable commission may vary by AMC, scheme, plan, asset class and other factors and may change from time to time. Scheme-level commission details are available on request.

Are there any hidden charges when using Prospera FinTech's services?

Applicable charges depend on the financial product or service and the relevant provider. They should be understood from the applicable product documents, terms, scheme disclosures and other provider information before proceeding.

For mutual fund schemes distributed through our AMFI-registered entities under the Regular Plan, the applicable AMC-paid trail commission is not separately collected from the investor by Prospera FinTech as a distribution charge.

Are investment returns guaranteed?

No. Prospera FinTech does not guarantee investment returns. Market-linked investments can rise or fall in value, and fixed-income products can also involve credit, interest-rate and liquidity risks.

Customers should review the applicable product documents, risk factors, terms, charges and disclosures before proceeding. See the Disclaimer for additional information.

How can I verify whether a financial service or provider is regulated?

Check the official website or public records of the regulator or industry body relevant to the product or service and verify the provider's legal name and registration details where applicable.

For mutual fund distribution, investors can verify a distributor's AMFI Registration Number (ARN) through AMFI's Locate a Mutual Fund Distributor facility, which allows searches using the ARN number or ARN holder's name. AMFI also provides information on ARNs that have been suspended, terminated or declared invalid. For other financial services, the relevant regulator's official records should be checked where applicable.

What does regulatory oversight mean for an investment or financial product?

Regulatory oversight means that the relevant entity, product or activity is subject to the applicable regulatory framework, including requirements that may relate to registration, disclosures, conduct and investor or customer protection.

Regulatory oversight does not mean that investment returns are guaranteed, capital is protected or the product is risk-free. The applicable product documents, risk factors and terms should still be reviewed before proceeding.

What should I do if I have a complaint about a financial service?

The appropriate grievance mechanism depends on the product, service provider and nature of the complaint. Customers should first approach the relevant intermediary or service provider through its prescribed grievance process.

For securities-market grievances involving SEBI-regulated entities, investors may use SEBI’s SCORES platform after first approaching the concerned entity, where applicable.
